Not a big error, but one that could be easily fixed (that is, assuming I am
correct in what I say, of course).

In the example given, there are two lines of code that each read the same
(before the setting-up of verses 3
and 5, respectively), namely:
\hspace #0.1 % adds vertical spacing between verses [[my emphasis
added]]
In
those two cases (only), I think that the reference to \hspace should in fact be
to \vspace. (The other references to
\hspace in the example appear to be correct.)
