Dear Ralph,
Thanks for moving it on to the bugtracker.
I was not sure if this should be an enhancement or a defect in the core program.
I chose enhancement because it seems possible to get the correct time signature
(but not handle the measures?) currently.
I see it as a bug if compoundMeter can't support addition of any arbitrary
selection of existing "ordinary" time signatures. That covers the case of
compound meters including "irrational" parts like 1/10, because things like
\time 1/10
\time 5/12
... etc. are all supported by Lilypond; so it should be possible to create a
compound time signature containing them. You can see from the bug report that
in fact that functionality is already partially there, but fails in some cases.
On the other hand the support for time signatures containing 2/3 of a beat is
surely a new feature, even though it's readily possible to create a time
signature with different numbers and equivalent effect.
Best wishes,
-- Joe
