  A similar problem but slightly different happens when searching within a 
manual. For example, go to the 2.16 learning manual at 
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.16/Documentation/learning/index and enter a search 
term in the search box at left below the table of contents. The search passed 
to Google is actually for the 2.15 docs, and moreover is a search of all the 
manuals and not just the learning manual:

  site:lilypond.org/doc/v2.15 footnote
