In frescobaldi (on Linux) the cursor appears one character earlier
than you described, so i think the answer is "yes".

Just fixed a different bug (the maximum line length was being wrongly worked
out) and it seems to have fixed that, too (on my local copy - if anyone
wants this uploaded for testing, please let me know).
