Ahh!!! Yes, that solved the problem. Thanks so much.
I'm sorry I had not seen this. I had looked at it for 3 days, then decided 
to post it as a bug.

So this is good news for both LilyPond and for my typesetting purposes.

This report can now be closed, as it is not a bug.
