No.  Work on it has started, but there were too many open questions
about long-term reliable user interfaces and behavior for it to make
sense to include in 2.18.  The release of 2.18 should give us a large
enough time window to make experiments and experiences in that area and
converge to semantics we will be happy to support for longer.

I don't think we omitted important points here, even though a lot of
work counts as bug fixes and is not given mention.
