My point was that this snippet doesn't demonstrate what it claims. In 2.14 it was correct: "some metronome marks may be too close and therefore are printed vertically stacked, as demonstrated in the first part of this example": in current versions this is no longer true: the tempo marks are not stacked. It therefore seems that spacing them even further apart isn't consistent with what the snippet claims to show.
