This situation is annoying me now long enough. And I think a up-to-date
German documentation is important. I would like to change it or at least
try. Skimming the contributor guide, I think I am able to do so.
Thanks Joram!
At the beginning it seems unnecessarily complex, but it's quite easy once
you get used to it.
Should I just read this

translating-the-documentation
completely and then start? I would come back to the mailing list
(lilypond-devel?) in case of questions. What do you think?
Write to the translators list, as pointed out by David.
I wrote a slim guide for translators which is easier to read and more up to
date. James offered to integrate some parts of that guide into the
documentation but the task is still pending:
Yes it is, but I haven't forgotten it. Once I have done the couple of
MIDI sections rewrite patches I'll focus on the CG next.
So it would be useful to know if those instructions can themselves be
improved and that tracker issue updated in the meantime.
James
