I use vim or kate, and I meant omitting \layout{} from the .ly script,

for confusing wordings. I am not a native English speaker, and I sometimes
over-complicate by mistake, especially when it comes to words related to
music.
Thank you. That is now clear.
The English I would use would be "when there is no layout block".
Fortunately, Jonas figured out the error very quickly and has already posted a
patch for review.
