Dear Jean,
I am to new to Lilypond and can not decide if and how much the German
version is outdated or not. But beside this the main problem is that the
docu has bugs because the examples producing errors.
But I do not want to argue here because it is not my project. I just
tried to improve the project with givin my point of view as a user. The
docu does not help a new user if she/he is not able to simply copy and
paste the code to play around and becoming warm with the Lilypond
syntax.
Just my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback.
But in that case you should delete the translated version if there is
no one to maintain. An outdated and unmaintained version harm the
users more then an unexisting one.
That has exactly the same problem though: I am not fluent
enough in German to tell what parts of the documentation are
outdated or not. We're not going to delete the whole German
translation, which represents years of work, without complete
loss of hope that nobody will pick it up. Also, you have to
consider that there are translations for 11 languages. It is
to be expected that each language remains up-to-date as far
as there are volunteers available to do translation work speaking
that language. For German, that is not currently the case.
