These commands are conceptually not the same as other Up|Down commands - the \arpeggioArrow* commands don't change the position or direction of the grob but rather *add* an arrow (pointing up or down). Likewise the \arpeggioNormal command does not restore an "automatic" direction, but rather restores a normal, un-arrowed arpeggio. -- Mark Knoop
