Message-ID is not guaranteed to be globally unique, so it cannot be reliably used to identify messages. Besides, POP3 protocol does not provide a command for listing Message-IDs of the messages in the mailbox (as it does provide a command for UIDL). The only way to obtain them would be to issue a STAT command first, and then, for each message in the mailbox, issue a "TOP msg n" command. What's worse, the value of n is not known beforehand. So no, unfortunately it cannot be used. Regards, Sergey
