I retried it using debian testing, v3.13. Works as expected.

Could it be some permission issue?

I don't know, sorry.

How can I raise the debug level in order to try to understand what's happening?

Could the segfaults be related with the attempt Thunderbird does to create the other folders (Sent, Drafts and Trash), which I assume cannot be done with a local spool that is basically a mbox file?

Furthermore, trying to connect with openssl s_client, logging in and issuing the LIST command I don't get any segfault but the full content of my home directory is listed! Shouldn't the daemon access only the /var/mail spool directory as defined by the mail-spool setting? How am I supposed to avoid this?

I'm totally lost!
