Summary: Add a commandline option to print the executed command with unexpanded variables Project: make Submitted by: None Submitted on: Thu 01 Oct 2020 07:43:20 AM UTC Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Enhancement Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Component Version: 4.3 Operating System: Any Fixed Release: None Triage Status: None _______________________________________________________ Details: When building large Packages I find it hard to find out which variable contains a not working commandline switch. For example if gcc errors out due to a wrong commandline option, I find it hard to figure out where that option came from. So I wrote a patch for make to add -x, --print-unexp-cmd Print commandline without expanding variables to make's options. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu 01 Oct 2020 07:43:20 AM UTC Name: make-4.3-add-print-unexpanded-cmd-option.patch Size: 6KiB By: None <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=49898> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?59211> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
