Messages to external recipients from my work email have a similar note, and it is out of my control. I'm sure the situation is the same for Ross. Since Ross's contributions to free software are likely part of his job, it makes sense to use his work email (mine are mostly separate so I use a personal email). The extra few bytes won't kill you.
