hmm - I have a script which gives counts for various capabilities which are interesting. I added "xmc", and associated that with a check if the terminal uses any video attributes. Most do (170 and 167 respectively), with the exception of the Perkin Elmer terminals (one is listed in table 1). Seeing if xmc is working properly (without a suitable terminal) is hard, but keeping it from working badly might not be as hard :-) fwiw, about 10% of the entries have magic cookies :-( > There are also some terminal types which are unaffected by the magic cookie > setting, even though they have an xmc entry in terminfo.
