I have a novel public policy trial experiment for you. The outcome is to establish whether or not fraud is taking place in campaign expenditures.
Specifically, I am seeking to pull data out of a large number of Senate race FEC filings that exist only in scanned to .pdf image files and hence are impossible to analyze at large scale. However, the data is entered on a standard set of only about 5 different forms...and for several fields has a reasonably limited number of standard entries. This number of forms could be reduced to one manually if that would ease the job. I would like to be able to pull out data from the form fields and compile it into a database. Do you have any recommendations? Would Ocrad work for this purpose? Any recommendations you have for using Ocrad or any other product, commercial or otherwise, would be greatly appreciated. On your site you mention financial support for Ocrad. I'm sure I could arrange for that if you can get this job done in a couple days. Tall order I know, but would have national implications and big media hit. Sincerely, Matt Williamson __________________________________________________________________________________________ Check out the New Yahoo!
