I use ocrad 0.16 together with fuzzyocr and spamassassin in order to detect keywords in image spam. I have come across one type of image layout which ocrad does not appear to be able to recognise any text within. You can see the image at http://www.freespamfilter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=702
