I'm not excited by the idea. Would letting the "check" command set the partition size to coincide with the detected filesystem's size suffice?

That sounds misnomer, illogical from resizing point of view. 'Check' suggests fsck, not resizing. Here are some scenarios. What would be the most appropriate?

1. resize2fs|resize_reiserfs|resize_reiser4|ntfsresize
        parted resize

2. resize2fs|resize_reiserfs|resize_reiser4|ntfsresize
        parted check

3. resize2fs|resize_reiserfs|resize_reiser4|ntfsresize
parted align, adjust or whatever is the most expressive

Cheers,
        Szaka
