Not really sure what you are trying to do here, you aren't root and you shouldn't be running parted on the LV. Also it seems to think you used a wildcard for the device path which also isn't something that's supported. > > *Unable to determine the dm type of /dev/mapper/rl-root.* So, not really a bug.
