I would like to suggest a new feature. In the case parted couldn't
recognize the partition table on a disk, I think it would be helpful
if parted attempted to check whether the partition table didn't assume
a sector size different from the sector size that the disk currently
uses.

If such mismatch was detected, what would the associated action be ? Just warn ? Or offer to rewrite the partition table for the current sector size if possible ? The latter may not be possible if partition start or end is not aligned with the current sector boundaries, or if the current sector count exceeds the partition table addressing capability (e.g. MSDOS: LBA < 2^32, i.e. 2TiB with 512-byte sectors).
