Applying patch using --verbose I get:

  Hunk#1 succeeded
  Changing attruvutes for <filename>: Operation not supported

and it quits. Same result as root.

Is it:
   missing something in the kernel?
   missing a support file?
   bug in patch?

System: Slackware 14.1, x86-64, custom kernel.
