Non-termination buggy command in patch-2.7.6

Hi, I'm using patch-2.7.6 in Ubuntu.
While using this program, I found that certain CLI commands caused the system 
to crash, as shown below:

$ ./patch "--reverse" "-r" ""
(Non-termination, no messages.)
