The table of backslash escapes in the echo(1) man page does not
display correctly for me under RedHat Linux 7.0.  It does display
correctly in previous RH releases.

    % rpm -q -f /usr/share/man/man1/echo.1.gz
    sh-utils-2.0-11

The section in question:

       Without -E, the following  sequences  are  recognized  and
       interpolated:


       the character whose ASCII code is NNN (octal)

       b      backslash
       a
       c....  alert (BEL)
       k
       s.TP   suppress trailing newline
       p
       a
       form feed
       e

       new line
              carriage return


              horizontal tab

       vertical tab
