Thanks for the report.

However, I've checked several vendor-provided versions of /bin/expr
(Solaris, AIX, Unixware, NetBSD) and they all give the same diagnostic.
If you can find an implementation that does something else, of if you can
find something in the POSIX spec that says expr should work differently,
please let me know.
