The `man' page for date is automatically generated from date's --help
output. The primary documentation is usually available in `info'-format.
Have you looked at the `info' documentation for date?
If not, type `info date'.
There are many examples showing how to use date with a pretty
wide selection of formats, most of which work with --date= and --set=.
