In RedHat 9, (sh-utils 2.0.11 according man page) the german man page for
the 'pwd'-command shows:

BESCHREIBUNG
Gebe den gesamten Dateinamen des aktuellen Verzeichnisses aus..
--help zeige diese Hilfe an und beende das Programm
--version
gib Versionsinformation aus und beende das Programm
...

(... which means that only 'pwd --help' and 'pwd --version' are allowed
pwd-functions.)
Unfortunatly, the pwd-command itself allowes 'pwd -L' and 'pwd -P', while
help and version are not functional.
