this is probably related to also using --listed-incremental it appears to be probing stuff on nfs and procps file systems.
here is full command i'm running: /usr/local/bin/gtar -c -f /dev/sdlt14nr -b 256 -v --one-file-system --ignore-failed-read --totals --listed-incremental /usr/local/adm/etc/bckincremental.g0dup06 ./ /usr/local and here is a snippet of messages (another issue is this of course results in a non-zero exit status): /usr/local/bin/gtar: ./home/ts9user/public_html/default.gif: Warning: Cannot stat:Permiss ion denied /usr/local/bin/gtar: ./home/ts9user/public_html/index.html: Warning: Cannot stat: Permission denied /usr/local/bin/gtar: ./proc/5912/fd/5: Warning: Cannot stat: No such file or directory /usr/local/bin/gtar: ./proc/5912/task/5912/fd/5: Warning: Cannot stat: No such file or dir ectory _______________________________________________ Bug-tar mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-tar
