rmt-0.4b41-7.1.fc9.x86_64 [EMAIL PROTECTED] rsyncIfs]# tar --version tar (GNU tar) 1.19
[EMAIL PROTECTED] rsyncIfs]# tar -cvf remote22:/dev/nst0 --rmt-command=/sbin/rmt /etc
tar: remote22\:/dev/nst0: Cannot open: Input/output error An rsh command works fine, so root has access to execute remote commands. When on host remote22, the tape host, tars to /dev/nst0 work fine. Is this a bug in tar 1.19, or is something else wrong? Any advice greatly appreciated. Anne Hammond
