I just tried 1.28 on Solaris 10 Sparc with local filesystem and Solaris 10 x86
with
filesystem on NFS, both with these patches applied:
  0001-tar-port-wordsplit-attribute-to-Sun-C.patch
  0001-tar-port-xattr-at.c-to-Solaris-10.patch

On Sparc I get a failing test 25 and on x86 I get failing tests 25 82 85 87 116
161 163.

You can find the output at
  http://buildfarm.opencsw.org/~dam/gtar-1.28-sparc/testsuite.dir/

Best regards
