Improved a bit:

root 703 /\ sudo -u macports env PATH=../src:${PATH} which tar
        ../src/tar
        root 704 /\ sudo -u macports env PATH=../src:${PATH} ./testsuite
--color=always -j 1 -v -x -d -k extrac09

but noch progress…

It's quite hard to understand what the test shell script is performing. At
least a directory tree is built:

        095:
        insgesamt 8
        drwxr-xr-x 3 macports wheel 102 19. Feb 13:50 gnu
        -rwxr-xr-x 1 macports wheel 277 19. Feb 13:50 run
        -rw-r--r-- 1 macports wheel 1137 19. Feb 13:50 testsuite.log

        095/gnu:
        insgesamt 0
        drwxr-xr-x 3 macports wheel 102 19. Feb 13:50 dir

        095/gnu/dir:
        insgesamt 0
        drwxr-xr-x 3 macports wheel 170 19. Feb 13:50 sub

        095/gnu/dir/sub:
        insgesamt 12
        -rw-r--r-- 1 macports wheel 10240 19. Feb 13:50 archive.tar
        drwxr-xr-x 2 macports wheel 68 19. Feb 13:50 extract
        -rw-r--r-- 1 macports wheel 0 19. Feb 13:50 f

        095/gnu/dir/sub/extract:
        insgesamt 0

which indicates that gnutar 1.35.90 is at least working correctly.
