Hear, hear...
Perhaps we should somehow begin discussing the relevant issues (I
mean, how to make Texinfo more i18n- and m17n-friendly). I believe
the goal should be to support Omega on the TeX side, and UTF-8 (and
probably some additional widely-used encodings) on the Info/HTML
side, and/or perhaps XML.
But the issues are complex even if everybody agrees with that approach
(and I'd guess not everyone would ;-), as they involve several
different packages and documentation systems that should somehow work
together. So we might as well start discussing this now.
