Please, don't do that, it will break my second patch that allow
@-commands in node name (as in info file, see other email).

I will try also a third patch that enable ^ as catcode 7 in all
TeX-generated files, (in fact, I define \normalcaret to output \hat{})
it will enable 8 bits input file encoding.

I have also write @documentencoding that work as @documentlanguage.

I have write some parts of ISO-8859-1 support but I have to resolve some
others problems before:
1/ txi-ISO-8859-1.tex may not be portable (too long name), I will try to
make an alias list (I have some idea to do this)
2/ It needs a tex.fmt build with -mltex extension, I have write test for
that in my txi-ISO-8859-1.tex file.

Could we continue this thread on bug-texinfo mailing-list ?  Or it you
prefers on [EMAIL PROTECTED], in this case could you add me to
this list ?
