Feature request, generating a man page from a node

Is there any plans or ongoing work on having makeinfo produce man
pages? I would love to be able to give makeinfo a texinfo file and a
node name (typically "Invoking foo"), and have it output the node and
its subnodes in a format suitable for man.

If there are any way to something like that (using makeinfo or some
other tool) that I have missed, pointers are appreciated.
