Reply-To: Bill Wohler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
X-Debian-PR-Package: texinfo

Package: texinfo
Version: 4.0-4
Severity: normal

The input:

    \input texinfo   @c -*-texinfo-*-
    @cindex foo
    @bye

Generates the following error:

    [wohler@uluru:643]% texi2dvi --clean foo.texi
    This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.1)

    @cindex ->@cpindex

    l.2 @cindex
                foo
    ? Q
    OK, entering @batchmode/usr/bin/texi2dvi: tex exited with bad status, quitting.
    /usr/bin/texi2dvi: see foo.log for errors.

None of the other index commands I tried worked either.
