Greetings!

First, I want to say thank you for Texinfo and for the great GNU
manuals.

I am writing a converter to translate texinfo source into DocBook XML
source. In the process, I found what seems to be a "bug" in the
texinfo.txi source. You only hit it when you're processing it for html
output, which I'm doing.

On lines 1091+, you have:

@item
@ifinfo
  blah blah
@end ifinfo
@iftex
  blah blah
@end iftex

Here's the problem. When I'm processing it to extract html output, I
ignore the @iftex..@end iftex and the @ifinfo..@end ifinfo, but the
@item still appears. Which means I wind up with an empty list item.

Shouldn't the @item be inside the @ifinfo..@end ifinfo, @iftex..@end
iftex to avoid that? Or maybe an @ifhtml..@end ifhtml section as well?

P.S. I notice that the same blank list item appears in the online
version of the manual at
http://www.texinfo.org/manual/Conventions.html#Conventions

Thanks,
