I got the following error message when running fink's dselect on my
iMac. When I ran 'install-info --help', as suggested by the eror
message, I noticed that --info-dir=DIR is an option but not --infodir.
There are two different install-info programs, the one that comes with
Debian and the one that comes with Texinfo. Perhaps the Debian one
(/usr/bin/install-info maybe?) will work.
As you surmise, it would seem that just replacing --infodir with
--infodir should also work, but I don't know how to do that within a
Debian package, since I don't use Debian. I guess you could always
write a little shell script.
Meanwhile, I'll add --infodir as an alias for --info-dir in the next
release, but that won't do you any good right now :(.
