Thanks! I tried this with the GCC pages where I saw the problem and it
fixes them all. I'll use the patched version for the rest of my testing.
BTW, if you want it, the patch for <br> and <hr> was equally simple --
there are only a few occurrences of those strings, and I just changed
them all to <br /> and <hr />.
Or you might grab the latest sources from savannah (project texinfo) if
you want.
