The texinfo info files are by default installed as
texinfo
texinfo-1
...
texinfo-15
in /usr/local/info. As soon as I run gzip on the files, i.e.,
texinfo.gz
...
texinfo-15.gz
then starting `info', selecting the `texinfo' menu entry, I get the
message
Cannot find node `Top'.
and nothing happens. This *works* with e.g. texinfo 4.0.
My INFOPATH is set to `/usr/local/info:/usr/share/info' in case it
matters.
If this is really I bug (which I believe) it deserves a new release
immediately...
