Hi,

I have

        @macro refcommand{WHAT}
        @cindex @code{\WHAT\}
        @code{\WHAT\}
        @end macro

When I write

     @refcommand \arpeggio

I get

        (lilypond.tmp) (lilypond.tmp) [146] (lilypond.tmp) (Index) [147] (lilypond.cps)

        Runaway argument?
        {\} \entry {\code {\xeatspaces {\arpeggio }}}{74} \entry {\code {\xeatspaces \E
        TC.
        ! File ended while scanning use of \initial.
        <inserted text>
                        \par
        \next ...\begindoublecolumns \input \jobname .#1s
                                                          \enddoublecolumns \fi \fi ...
        l.14227 @printindex cp

how do I get a \ in an index entry using the macro system?
