Yes, you have convinced me:)  Only one note:

I agree wholly. However, it is seldom possible. Of corse, one can run
`texi2dvi -t @smallbook' but, in the majority of cases, one will have to
change all @examples to @smallexamples before doing so, otherwise lots
of overflow hboxes will be produced.
