So the next option would be that Debian install-info does more than GNU
install-info, but at least it accepts also *exactely* the same command
line argumetns, too.

What would RMS do? Write his own?
Well, he actually did write install-info.c :).
Of course I bring things up when I think there is something technically
wrong or that could stand improvement. But here it seems to me there is
a valid argument for install-info not being in Perl. So I don't want to
waste his time debating it.
Anyway, I doubt it is *that* hard to implement the Debian options in C.
