There are still interests in your script. I sent a proposal in April (see the thread http://lists.debian.org/debian-dpkg/2007/04/msg00031.html). You were not in copy since I think you are subscribed to the Dpkg's mailing list. I planed to rely on your script for update-info-dir. I just had a quick look at you script. You are no more using ginstall-info (nor install-info). Was it really needed? (for performance issues?) I'm not sure it would be fine to add another install-info implementation. IIRC, you had a implementation based on the GNU install-info code. Were there some problems with this implementation?
