When I compile the attached document with makeinfo, then the following
warning is issued:

makeinfo templates.texi -o c:/Programme/GNU/Emacs/info/templates.info
templates.texi:286: warning: `.' or `,' must follow @xref, not `f'.
Compilation finished at Thu Oct 09 07:24:23

But the problem is not at line 286 but at line 268. The problem is not that 8
and 6 are in reverse order ( :-) ), but that the @xref is in a @footnote. When
I add a point after this @xref then the warning disappear.
