In PDF, @flushleft neither ignores @indent completely, nor does it apply @indent correctly (see attached image).

@indent should be honoured correctly -- I see no reason to disable it.
This bug, however, shows a different problem: A real @raggedright
command is missing; for example, this would be useful for lists of
commands with long names, something where it can be known in advance
that it will look bad if not typeset as ragged right.
