Good idea, I have added a note to check for this in my configure script.

Okay, sure. If you think this is the correct behaviour, no problem. It did
surprise though. And sure, it's just an æsthetic nitpick -- hardly a major issue
or anything... but by now I'm sure you're used to my annoying nitpicking! Heh.
