Is there any possibility to force the @headitem to the same page as
the following @item? Neither @group nor @need works.
I believe it's breaking at the baselineskip glue before the @item line.
All I can think of is to try to insert a \nobreak or \noalign{\nobreak}
after the \cr of the @headitem line. I don't know if it will work.
Do you have text that causes the problem still hanging around, by any
chance?
