    I think we should have "@verb{+@'e?`!`{}\+}" 
                instead of "@verb{+@'e?`{}!`\+}".

Ah, I see I failed to update the example text to match that output.  At
least I think that's what you are reporting.  Will fix.

I prefer separating the Spanish ligatures from each other because it's
easy to get confused as to whether it's ?` or `?.  I have to look it up
every time myself. :)

Apparently it's not necessary for the example input to use @!, either.
So good, changing that too.
