Update of bug #38168 (project texinfo):

Status: In Progress => Ready For Test

    _______________________________________________________

Follow-up Comment #3:

Implemented in revision 5255. The option works both with -w and without it.
In the latter case, if more than one file matches, the user is presented a
menu node, listing the matches and allowing him to select one of them. During
the interactive session, this menu node can be visited again by pressing 'C-x
f' (in Emacs mode) or ':a' (in vi mode).

If only one file matches, it is visited as usual. Similarly, if no matches are
found, the dir is shown (i.e. the behavior is the same as without -a).

Please test and let me know if it works for you.
