Hi Vincent - Emacs display issues are surely something to report to bug-emacs or emacs-devel, if you can find something reproducible with the current version and starting up with -q --no-site-file. I have experienced many issues over the years wrt crlf display, so a bug in an old version would not be surprising or worth reporting.
Regarding texi2any behavior, what I described was processing a consistently-CRLF input file and outputting (on a Unix system) LF everywhere *except* inside the DIR-ENTRY section, where the ^M was preserved. That is definitely a bug, the ^M shouldn't be there. That's all. Best, k
